Swatch watches were cool
Swatch watches were cool
for a bit in the eighties.
I've never felt cool.
Someone said to me
that my way of being cool
is being uncool.
Till age twenty five
I chose to resist watches,
watched time on my own.
Once I decided
if I really liked a watch
that I would wear it
I gave Swatch a chance:
walked in the store, looked around
saw same old same old
Though they were trying
with bright colored vinyl bands
nothing caught my heart
Then, a faceless watch
looked at me and I looked back
and now it was time
Over thirty years
have carried me here to now.
I'm wearing a Swatch
My new faceless Swatch

it's my uncool cool.
