When someone says that
a question may sound stupid
it is often smart
When we listen to
the sound of our thin silence
we find G-d inside
What sounds beautiful
can be very deceptive
a cover of lies
A sound character
is the goal of the endgame
true integrity
We should not worship
the sound of our own voices
but our own silence
Flying vibrations
reaching a live being's ears
sounds like a sound
I wonder about
the impression I convey
when you hear my voice
--------------------
They started out blank
Filling up year after year
Empty diaries
Jackson Browne sang that
he was running on empty
when his gas ran low
Fill what is empty
only if that's what it needs
Sometime's empty's fine
No, never empty
Always thinking in my head
My thoughts have their thoughts
My empty stomach
dictates too much of my life
as does my full one

221-226 Leveled Haiku
We will never move
If we stay on the level
Where the issue starts
There’s a foundation
Understanding is built on:
Frustration and pain
Sometimes we rise up
To the expected level
And make a dream real
There is a level
Where the world greets poetry
May we reach it soon
We must take caution
As we proceed up levels
To climb the right stairs
Age does not define
One’s emotional level
It’s just a number
If we stay on the level
Where the issue starts
There’s a foundation
Understanding is built on:
Frustration and pain
Sometimes we rise up
To the expected level
And make a dream real
There is a level
Where the world greets poetry
May we reach it soon
We must take caution
As we proceed up levels
To climb the right stairs
Age does not define
One’s emotional level
It’s just a number
211-220 Sand/Trip
Stars shine above me-
The grains of sand in my shoe
My foot catches on
before the rest of me does
so I trip and fall
Life is a journey
All we know is it goes on
Until it doesn't
John Steinbeck said that
unlike what he'd thought, he learned
that the trip takes us
Incomes are like shoes,
they say John Locke said-
too large and we trip
My trips to Shoprite
make me think of Disneyland
where I've never been
Sometimes I knew that
we were not almost there yet
still, I had to ask
The grains of sand in my shoe
Hurt me from below
It is safe to say
There's more sand in the bottom
of my hourglass
How much in my life
are temporary facades-
Castles made of sand?
I want to hold you
Like sand passing through my hands,
First I must find you
